The short version: we hold your email address so we can save your place, tell you when it's your turn, and let you know how Wickfy is coming along. One click stops all of it.
What we keep
When you join the waitlist we store:
- Your email address. You typed it in. It's the only thing we ask for.
- A referral code we make up for you, so friends who join through your link move you up the line.
- A scrambled version of your internet address. Not the address itself. It's run through a one-way scrambler so we can tell two sign-ups apart without knowing where either of you is.
- Where you came from, if you arrived through a code on a poster or a QR at an event. It's a short tag like "expo", not a trail of where you've been.
- The date you joined, because the line is in order.
Nothing else. No name, no phone number, no payment details, no date of birth.
What we do with it
- Hold your place in line and work out where that place is.
- Send you the one email confirming your spot.
- Email you when it's your turn to get in.
- Email you about Wickfy itself: when it launches, when something worth knowing changes. Not often, and only ever about Wickfy.
- Count how many people are waiting.
By joining the waitlist you're agreeing to those emails. Every one of them has an unsubscribe link and one click stops them for good, without affecting your place in line.
We don't sell your address. We don't rent it. We don't hand it to advertisers. We never send you anyone else's offers, and nobody else gets to email you because of us.
Who else touches it
Two companies, both because the site needs them to work:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the waitlist database.
- Kit sends the email. Your address and your place in line sit in Kit so it knows what to send you.
Both are bound by their own agreements to handle it only on our instructions.
Cookies
We don't use tracking cookies and there's no cookie banner, because there's nothing to consent to. Your browser does remember your referral code and your place in line so the page can greet you properly when you come back. That stays in your browser and never leaves it. Clearing your browser data wipes it.
We count page visits using Cloudflare's own measurement, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow people between websites.
How long we keep it
While you're on the list and want to hear from us. If you unsubscribe we stop emailing you immediately and keep only enough to make sure we don't email you again by mistake. Ask us to delete the lot and we will.
Getting out
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and we stop emailing you. You don't lose your place in line by doing it, you just stop hearing from us.
If you want the record deleted altogether, or want to see what we hold, email [email protected] and we'll sort it. You don't need to give a reason.
Your rights
Because we hold data on people in the UK and the EU, you have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or object to us using it. Email [email protected] and we'll act on it within a month.
If you think we've handled it badly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Wickfy isn't for under 18s and we don't knowingly keep their details. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the record.

Changes
If this page changes we'll update the date at the top. If it changes in a way that affects what we do with your email, we'll tell you by email first.
